Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County, Inc. is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, and is incorporated in the state of Maryland under the bylaws set forth by Habitat for Humanity International.

Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County, Inc. builds, renovates, and repairs homes in partnership with county residents in need of decent shelter.  Homeowners are selected based on their need for housing, ability to repay a no-interest mortgage or repair promissory installment note, and willingness to partner with Habitat during and after home construction or repairs.  Mortgage payments and repair promissory installment notes contribute to a fund that provides money to build, renovate, and repair additional homes.  Due to Habitat’s no-interest loans and the utilization of a volunteer workforce whenever advisable, loan payments are extremely affordable for low-income partner homeowners.  Habitat assists partner homeowners in developing the skills necessary to become financially independent and knowledgeable about maintaining the home that they have helped to build, renovate, or repair.  The Habitat “Volunteer Builders” and “Sponsors” experience overwhelming gratification and pride in helping to create affordable, safe homes for families.  This community involvement changes lives.
